Connect your AI chat

Your AI chat can be your LessonFolk tutor from any folder. Connect it to this LessonFolk with MCP (Model Context Protocol, a standard way for AI apps to use tools): it then reads the courses and saves your progress here.

Set up your app

Apps change their menus from time to time. If a step does not match what you see, look for “MCP” or “connectors” in the app’s settings or help pages.

Claude Code

  1. In a terminal, run:

    claude mcp add --transport http lessonfolk https://lessonfolk.com/mcp
  2. Start Claude Code (claude), type /mcp, choose lessonfolk and authenticate. Your browser opens: sign in, then allow.

Codex

  1. In a terminal, run:

    codex mcp add lessonfolk --url https://lessonfolk.com/mcp
  2. Then run this command. Your browser opens: sign in, then allow.

    codex mcp login lessonfolk

Cursor

  1. Open Cursor’s MCP settings and add a server, or add this to the file ~/.cursor/mcp.json (in your home folder):

    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "lessonfolk": {
          "url": "https://lessonfolk.com/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
  2. When Cursor asks you to log in to lessonfolk, sign in, then allow.

Claude Desktop

  1. In Claude Desktop, open the connectors settings and add a custom connector with your address. Connect it: your browser opens, sign in, then allow.

Custom connectors connect from Anthropic’s servers, so they need a public https:// address.

claude.ai

  1. In claude.ai, open the connectors settings and add a custom connector with your address. Connect it: sign in, then allow.

ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Apps, and turn on developer mode in the advanced settings. Create an app with your address and OAuth authentication, then sign in and allow when asked.

Developer mode is not available on every ChatGPT plan.

Then start learning
