# LessonFolk > Learn AI from zero to advanced, with an AI tutor in your chat. See your courses and progress. LessonFolk is an open-source project that teaches AI to anyone, from complete beginners to advanced practitioners. Learners talk to an AI tutor in their own chat (Claude, ChatGPT and other apps that support MCP); the tutor reads the courses and saves progress through the LessonFolk MCP server. The courses are free. ## Main pages - [Courses](https://lessonfolk.com/courses): every course, in the recommended learning order - [Connect your AI chat](https://lessonfolk.com/connect): how to connect a chat app to the LessonFolk tutor (MCP server: https://lessonfolk.com/mcp) - [Authors](https://lessonfolk.com/authors): who writes the courses - [Privacy](https://lessonfolk.com/privacy): what is stored and how to delete it - [Source code](https://github.com/CGSeb/lessonfolk): open source, MIT license ## Courses - [AI Foundations](https://lessonfolk.com/courses/ai-foundations): Start from zero. What AI is, how machines learn, and what is really happening when you chat with an AI. - [Prompting Basics](https://lessonfolk.com/courses/prompting-basics): Write clear requests and get reliably good answers from a chat assistant — context, examples, format, and how to fix an answer that missed. - [Using AI Safely and Wisely](https://lessonfolk.com/courses/ai-safety): Use AI with your eyes open — why it can be confidently wrong, how to check answers, what to keep private, where bias comes from, and how to use AI-made content honestly. - [AI for Everyday Work](https://lessonfolk.com/courses/ai-for-everyday-work): Turn AI into everyday habits — summarise and draft, research and learn, work with documents, brainstorm, save time on repetitive tasks and build a routine that suits you. No code needed. - [AI Coding Assistants in Practice](https://lessonfolk.com/courses/ai-coding-assistants): Work with AI coding assistants like a senior developer — know what they see, split work into tasks they handle well, review their code, protect your secrets, and keep tests and git as your safety net. The course works with any tool. - [Debugging with AI](https://lessonfolk.com/courses/debugging-with-ai): Turn your AI assistant into a debugging partner, not a guessing machine — give it the right evidence, read errors together, test ranked hypotheses, fix the root cause instead of the symptom and prove the fix works. Works with any language and any tool. - [AI Coding Assistants for Teams: Rules, Skills and Plugins](https://lessonfolk.com/courses/ai-coding-assistants-for-teams): Set up your coding assistant for a whole team — write an AGENTS.md it follows, scope and share rules, package workflows as commands, skills and plugins, and add guardrails with permissions and hooks. Taught with the tool you use, with equivalents in the other major tools. - [Build with AI: Your First AI App](https://lessonfolk.com/courses/build-with-ai): Go from using AI to building with it — call a model from Python, shape its behaviour, get structured output, manage conversations and ship a small chatbot, all with free tools. - [AI Agents and Tools](https://lessonfolk.com/courses/ai-agents-and-tools): A clear mental model of AI agents, without the hype — let a model call your functions, run an agent loop, answer from your own documents, and keep it safe with guardrails and human oversight.
